Breathing into present

I go for a walk. As I do, start to relax, to empty my mind. Begin to become aware.

Then, connect my mind to my present through the awareness that I am breathing.

And I can only breathe orderly: first inhale and then exhale. One breath at a time, the process of breathing cannot be accumulated or deferred.

Anchor the Moment

It is impossible to store what has been breathed for another time, or to spend previous breaths.

Therefore, the entire breath is an exact moment that is immutable. And a moment is not transferable either, it cannot be deferred or anticipated.

A moment is life.

Breathing is a moment.

And once I have emptied my mind of thoughts, can create a conscious state, a logical environment for a very orderly chain of thoughts efficiently referred to a strictly defined topic by my will: breathing.

So, the breathing is consciously linked to the moment.

And each moment occurs only in the present, and the present will never have more or less than one moment. There are no half moments, or moments and a half.

So I recount what I have achieved: I think about breathing, and then do this one moment at a time, and there is no need for haste or patience.

There is no necessary understanding. I just breathe in my moment.

And understand that the moment exists only in the present.

And I define the present as the infinite summation of strictly consecutive moments. The ongoing flow of moments.

I cannot skip moments, advance them, disorder them, or go back. Just like it happens with breathing.

But I notice an important difference: the moment exists outside of me, it is foreign to me, unless I make it mine; breathing is born in me, and it is also composed of two moments: inhalation and exhalation.

So, every time I breathe completely, It bring two moments into my possession, and I use them.

And that is important: I can possess moments, call them my moment. Then I see the first limitation: the infinite succession of moments composes life. On the other hand, my life is composed of the finite succession of my moments.

Cultivating Awareness

And I correct the initial reflection: the breathing that I perform assumes the power over two moments; why is there that disparity? What is important is that I breathe consciously.

My attention is focused on breathing.

Therefore, I am aware of my present. And the present is my moment, and my moment is to breathe consciously.

And I stay in the present. That is an important part of awakening. So I have become aware of my present, but I understand that my present is different from the present.

The present is an infinite moment.

My present is two finite moments. And if I breathe through my moments, then I can become aware that I breathe through my presents.

So, if I breathe in several presents, can I be aware of several presents at the same time? I walk consciously, my senses are alert, but nothing distracts me, everything is nothing in my present.

Achieving that is the beginning of the path to peace.

I understand that I constantly breathe through all my presents, through all my affairs, through my emotions, passions, and events.

I will not always be aware of this, but I will always be able to remember it. So I know how important it is for me to stop to give myself a moment to breathe.

Understanding it is already a great achievement.
